Julie Headland is a Connecticut-based artist known for her expressive portraits and narrative paintings that reveal the tenderness and absurdity of being human. My work draws from both art history and pop culture, creating a dialogue between the classical and the contemporary. Through portraiture and narrative scenes, I explore paradoxes of identity, memory, and culture. These visual epigrams connect past and present, inviting viewers to find themselves somewhere in between.
